The East Bay Municipal Utitlist District is experimentying with anaerobically digesting food scraps from nearby San Francisco to generate energy and as an additional compost feedstock. The nearby Oakland Zoo has been composting on-site for many years now. The Oakland Coliseum, serves beverages in corn-based biodegradable cups, which are collected and composted after use. We will also visit Grover Soil Solutions, a producer of high quality STA compost. Grover creates a full range of soil amendments and custom blends to satisfy a diverse customer base.
